Yeah, yeah, it's been a loooooong time between updates. Life got in the way. Is still in the way, really. But this is big and way past time I posted it. My first novel, Shara, has been accepted by 3F Publications and will be available in June 2003. You can preorder copies at Shocklines, the online horror bookstore. 3F also will be doing a series of graphic novels about characters from Shara, mainly Ulrik. It will be called Wolf Ruler and will appear twice each year in the Taste of Horror anthology.

Earlier this month, I had an article called "What to do when your spooky sputters" published in Speculations magazine.

My first copies of Darkscapes came in the mail today. It's not a bad looking little book, if I do say so myself. It can be ordered for $2 off the cover price (cover price is $19.95) at Publish America's Web site.

"Wandering John" has been accepted for inclusion in the next issue of Whispers From the Shattered Forum. The first part of this story is based on a dream I had about walking through downtown Oklahoma City spitting baby mice. From there, it turns into a shapeshifter story (but no werewolves this time).

May 30, 2002
I got the approved version of the cover for Darkscapes. It's a little different than the proposed cover. I'll post it on the site as soon as I get a Web-friendly format of it.

I agreed to a contract with Publish America for them to release my short story collection DARKSCAPES later this year. DARKSCAPES collects 34 dark-themed stories written (or at least outlined) at the time I made my first pro-level sale of fiction. It will be published as a trade paperback.

CALL TO THE HUNT was recommended for a Horror Writers Association Bram Stoker Award but disqualified because it isn't long enough. However, after that, the new stories "Feast of Saratoga," "Henry's Run," "Call to the Hunt" and "Kiss of the Wolf" were then recommended in the Short Fiction category.

December 6, 2001
I signed a contract to have my short story "Lulu" published in Lone Wolf Publications' CD ROM anthology CARNIVAL, edited by Jean Rabe. It will be available in 2002.

And yes, one of the main reasons I'm enrolled is to bury my BA from that accursed school in Edmond. Now, when people ask where I went to school I can say I went to OU.
